Services - how we work:
An appointment is made to visit the client in his or her own home. The Client Services Manager will prepare a written assessment and quote, and has over 16,000 hours nursing experience with in-home care for dementia patients.
This will mostly be followed up by a visit, by appointment, by the Nursing Manager to determine any special nursing requirements or medical information to complete the patient care plan.
A quote and care plan will be prepared and submitted. If accepted, the care can commence at the client's convenience, following selection of the care team. All staff have a minimum of 1000 hours experience in nursing dementia patients. The Nursing Manager has over 20 years experience in hospitals, nursing homes, hostels and community nursing, the Housekeeping Manager has over 10 years experience in hospitals, nursing homes, lock up security wards for dementia patients, and dementia day care centres.
Once care has commenced, a program of monthly follow up visits by both the Client Services Manager and Nursing Manager is set up to ensure client satisfaction. Immediate 24-hour contact is available by priority landline, mobile phone, landline or e-mail.
The Housekeeping Manager will also make appointments to visit the client to make sure housekeeping standards are maintained to the clients standards.
Assessments and care plans are updated every 3 months. Short term or respite contracts are handled by negotiation with the client as to the level of service that will be required.
All quotes are prepared on an individual basis, and will vary according to the individual needs. A team of highly qualified Registered Nurses for a high care patient will obviously cost more than a well-qualified and experienced team for a low care patient.
Invoices are payable weekly, in advance. One weeks notice of termination is required from either party.
Private nursing can be combined with free government home care programs to achieve sometimes significant cost savings. If a number of members of a family are prepared to chip in towards cost, the load can be very substantially lowered. For a chat about care and budgeting, ring us on 1300 852 998. It is free of any charge or obligation, and we can usually help.
Countrycarers get at least one call a week where the inquirer has no idea as to how services can be mixed and matched to reduce costs. On a shared cost basis, it is theoretically possible to get 24 hour 7 day a week care down to about $1600 a week, less than half the normal best price for full time care. If the patient can be safely left for 40 hours a week or 6 hours a day or night, cost of care can be reduced further to about $800 a week for 128 hours of care.
We are available 24 hours 7 days a week. Do ring us with your queries.
